Abriel: Female Fronted Death Metal Band, played Warped Tour and California Metal Fest

blessthefall: From a city named after a mythical creature - known for its invincibility against competition and for its rise among ruin, Phoenix proves itself time and again to be a city on the rise- producing notable band after band. There can be no better representation then blessthefall. In addition to their staggering live performances, blessthefall have quickly become known for their uninhibited personalities and eccentricities, including a love for llamas, hot tamales, and the Top Gun soundtrack. They also carry certain advantages - as they are younger, yet equally as capable as their more established counterparts. A five-piece that dug its heels into the dry desert sands and refused to relent, blessthefall planted themselves amid the chaos of competition in January of 2004. Drummer Matt and guitarist Mike formed a band with sweeping dreams and untainted visions. Early on, with friends playing as interim members, the band gained regional recognition by winning local battle-of-the-bands contests, spurring them to continue forming the enterprise, despite the member changes that young bands typically face. Temporarily secure in their line-up (with Craig's vocals and Jared on bass) they spent the next year focused on evolving as musicians and refining their sound. Though they drew from bands like Underoath, Alexisonfire, and As I Lay Dying, aspects of pop, hip-hop, rap, and even R&B surfaced in their songs - if not through Craig's vocal reach, then through the beats and rhythms that surfaced in their music. Being one of the youngest bands in the area, blessthefall were added to bills with other notable local artists such as Greeley Estates and Scary Kids Scaring Kids. In August of 2005 they recorded their self-titled 3 song EP which enhancing their growing reputation. By October the line up was complete when Eric was added on guitar, complementing the band's progressing sound. As the older bands were away from Phoenix touring and recording, blessthefall took advantage of the musical drought the Valley was in. They confirmed their capabilities by selling out show after show at the local venues. Ultimately, they were responsible for shutting down Neckbeard's (a well-known local venue) in January 2006. Doors were permanently closed after the employees failed to maintain capacity due to the hundreds of kids outside trying to force their way into an already sold-out show where blessthefall was headlining. They continued to share the stage with other established artists, often drawing a bigger crowd then those more reputed. You can catch them on the entire 2007 Vans Warped Tour on the Smartpunk Stage. Their debut full length His Last Walk will be released on Science Records on April 10th, 2007.

SiK: *Mike Sickels vocals *Dano Hibbs guitar/vocals *Nick Vargo bass *Keith Wishon drums....

SiK’s reputation for genuine musicianship and high energy performances has made them a leading presence on the Dallas music scene. Heavy-formatted grooves crafted with captivating melody are clearly heard on Sik’s new EP, “Eliminate the Weak.” Opening for a national act on just their second performance and making headlining status thereafter, the group’s sturdy dedication is driving them to take on the music world.

Killswitch Engage: Killswitch Engage tour dates and concert performances have made them metalcore's most riotous and sought after band. They are currently working on their upcoming fifth album and will tour throughout 2011 to support the effort. Don't miss a date on the Killswitch Engage concert schedule 2011; Use Eventful for Killswitch Engage tour dates when they become available.

Killswitch Engage formed with the dissolution of heavy metal bands, Aftershock and Overcast, in the late '90s. Mike D'Antonio and Adam Dutkiewicz left their respective bands and recruited Joel Stroezel and Jesse Leach and conceived Killswitch. The name was taken from an episode of the sci-fi cult classic series X-Files. They recorded a demo in 1999 and toured in hopes of finding a recording contract. They released their self-titled debut through indie label Ferret Records. While the album didn't chart, it did catch the attention of A&R execs from Roadrunner Records who signed the band. They released their sophomore set, Just Breathing, in 2001 and managed to score a #37 berth on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.

Killswitch Engage tour dates took them around the country fueling their rising profile. In 2002, Killswitch Engage tour dates were booked on the Road Rage Tour in the UK and The Netherlands with 36 Crazyfists and they continued to schedule concerts throughout 2003 before returning to the studio. They released The End of Heartache in 2004 and suddenly had a hit album on their hands. The disc debuted at #21 on the Billboard 200 and went on to receive a Gold certification. Rolling Stone magazine hailed the record as a "stunning collection" and praised the album's ferocious guitar riffs. Their single "The End of Heartache" was featured in the film Resident Evil: Apocalypse and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Metal Performance in 2004. Killswitch Engage tour dates were booked at the Reading and Leeds Festival in 2006 and throughout Australia.

They released the follow-up, As Daylight Dies, in 2006 which peaked at #32 on the album charts. Their cover of Dio's '80s rock hit, "Holy Diver", became the biggest single of their career and scored them another Gold record. Killswitch Engage tour dates were booked on the No Fear Tour throughout 2007 and they entered the studio to record their most recent album. The self-titled record was released in 2009 and became their first top ten album when it debuted at #7 on the charts. They then signed on to tour along the Mayhem Festival with Marilyn Manson and Slayer that year. In 2010, Killswitch Engage tour dates were scheduled at the Download Festival. Currently, the band is working on new material for their sixth album. With a decade in the business, Killswitch Engage has provided us with the most ruthless and hard hitting metal out there. Don't miss a date on the Killswitch Engage tour schedule. Use Eventful as your source for Killswitch Engage tour dates and concert schedule information as they become available.

Asking Alexandria: The band Asking Alexandria might not be the same band that some fans remember. Guitarist Ben Bruce started a band with the same name in Dubai under a completely different lineup and a different style. It was only when Bruce moved back to England and reused the name for the popular metalcore band that the name truly gained recognition. Asking Alexandria stands apart from other metalcore bands with their speed, their intensely physical concert dates, and surprisingly melodic clean vocals. Metal fans can check out the incredible speed and power of Asking Alexandria on their upcoming tour dates in 2011 as they promote their new album, Reckless & Relentless.

Asking Alexandria has only been around since 2008, but they have paid their dues in England and the US. Before recording their first album, the band played extensive concert dates in the UK and the US in 2008. After gaining a decent following, Asking Alexandria recorded their debut album, Stand Up and Scream, in 2009 right before being signed to Sumerian Records. Despite the previous year full of tour dates, the album was such a success that the band spent most of 2009 playing concert dates with bands like Alesana and Evergreen Terrace.

2010 was an even busier year for Asking Alexandria; the band worked on a reissue of Stand Up and Scream called Stepped Up and Scratched, which has a more dustup vibe than the original. The band also worked extremely hard on their newest album Reckless & Relentless while playing numerous tour dates on a number of separate tours with Attack Attack!, Dance Gavin Dance, We Came as Romans, and the Thrash and Burn Tour with Born of Osiris.

With Reckless & Relentless released on April 5, 2011, Asking Alexandria is scheduling even more concert dates to promote the album. Tour dates for 2011 will include plenty of popular metal bands, including Evergreen Terrace, Emmure, Chiodos, Miss May I, and Lower Than Atlantis. The Reckless and Relentless Tour is currently on the US leg of its tour dates, making their way up the West Coast and weaving back and forth over the Canadian border. The European leg of 2011 tour dates will begin with a sold out show in London on April 22 and will continue throughout Western Europe and South Asia until late May, returning to Europe for the final few concert dates.

Black Veil Brides: Black Veil Brides is a unique combination of metalcore, hair metal, rock, and just a little KISS. Their heavy sound is complemented by a violin (played by Jinxx) and is characterized by a slow yet heavy driving sound. Their look is that of a goth version of Kiss, with the band wearing black and white make-up (each member has their own look) and big, styled black hair. Black Veil Brides concert dates are truly an event, complete with a high energy audience and a high energy performance by the band. While the band hasn't been around for a long time, it hasn't stopped Black Veil Brides from playing tour dates across the country with some popular bands in the black/death metal scene. While Black Veil Brides are done with tour dates for 2011, the success of their recent concert dates guarantees more live performances soon.

The band formed in 2006 and is currently composed of Ashley Purdy on bass and back-up vocals, Jake Pitts on lead guitar, Jinxx on guitar and occasionally the electric violin, Christian Coma on drums, and their charismatic lead singer Andy Six. The band has gathered a large and diverse following due to their blending of contemporary metal and 70's/80's rock. Black Veil Brides was formed in Cincinnati and were easily signed to StandBy Records in September of 2009, just after releasing their single "Knives and Pens". By December of that year they were already on their first US concert tour entitled On Leather Wings. Their first album, We Stitch These Wounds, didn't release until July of 2010 but quickly rose to number one on the Billboard Independent chart.

Black Veil Brides has the release of their second album, Set the World on Fire slated for June 21, 2011. It has already been announced that the album's title track will be used in the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie. Recently, the band headlined 2011 tour dates on the Ap tour, which featured Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, I See Stars, Versaemerge, and Conditions. With the release of an album in June, fans can expect more tour dates in 2011 in promotion of the album. Despite Black Veil Brides' recent rise to success, there will be plenty of opportunities to see them on concert dates and immerse in new music.

Suicide Silence: SUICIDE SILENCE has dominated the metal world since arriving on the scene in 2005. Almost immediately, the Riverside natives caught fire and became a five-piece force of destruction, bludgeoning fans across the world with the strength of their two full-length records. It's now 2011 and the band is gearing up for its biggest campaign yet. SUICIDE SILENCE will soon be entering the studio with heavyweight producer Steve Evetts (Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Hatebreed) to create their most substantial piece of work to date. This summer, the yet-to-be-titled record aims to redefine heavy and further the band's dominating force within the extreme metal community. Following a long list of achievements, including a Revolver Golden God Award for ‘Best New Talent’, the band catapulted to the top of the metal world to become one of the most influential and respected young bands around. SUICIDE SILENCE has spread their infectious brand of metal across the globe, taking part in tours such as Vans Warped Tour, the Rockstar Mayhem Festival, Music as a Weapon IV and even the massive Download Festival in the UK. This year will see some of their best touring yet; having already confirmed Graspop, Vainstream, and other major European festivals, the band is now excited to reveal their participation in the 2011 edition of the Rockstar Mayhem Festival.

Clearly reminded of the sheer aggression and captivating performance of the band’s 2008 appearance, the Mayhem Festival has invited SUICIDE SILENCE to return and unleash their punishing brand of metal to the masses. This special 2011 performance will feature a more elaborate stage show alongside an array of new music never previously performed and will certainly be the premier opportunity to witness the band lay waste across the country. SUICIDE SILENCE has already landed the cover of Revolver, been named one of the ‘100 Bands You Need To Know’ by Alternative Press and shifted nearly 200,000 records in a time where critics claim the music industry is dead. After two highly acclaimed studio albums and countless laps around the globe alongside the likes of Slipknot, Slayer, Megadeth, As I Lay Dying, Mudvayne and more, SUICIDE SILENCE has proven itself to be a truly dominant force in modern metal. Now, the juggernaut returns with its third-full length, which looks to push the extreme metal genre even further into the scope of music fans everywhere. Look for SUICIDE SILENCE to be in your face throughout the year regardless of where you live or what genre you pledge your allegiance to. SUICIDE SILENCE will find a way into your world in 2011 so be prepared to bang your head!

The group will made their triumphant return to the U.S. in early July as part of the summer's most anticipated tour, "Rockstar Energy Mayhem," alongside Slipknot, Disturbed and Machine Head, among a slew of others. Be sure to visit MYSPACE to view their complete touring schedule.

Bleeding Through: Faster yet more melodic, heavier yet more accomplished, more precise while even further off the deep-end into tragedy and loneliness, Bleeding Through's "The Truth" is a trend-proof middle finger toward the glut of over-saturation that threatens to destroy a scene this band helped to build.

"The Truth" is is fast, raw and pissed off, with the crystal clear but unhinged and slightly off-kilter production work of Rob Caggiano (Cradle Of Filth, A Life Once Lost) at last capturing the promise the band has shown since debuting with "Dust To Ashes."

Bleeding Through's successes have been many as well though, mostly built upon their Trustkill debut, "This Is Love, This Is Murderous." The album produced two staples on MTV2 ("On Wings Of Lead" and "Love Lost In A Hail Of Gunfire") with Spin Magazine calling them an "Artist To Watch," Revolver branding them part of "The Future Of Metal," multiple accolades from Metal Hammer and Kerrang! and the love of Alternative Press.

AFI invited Bleeding Through to open for them shortly before the album was released, which was followed by the band's own "Mutilation Tour," Ozzfest 2004, the third annual MTV2 "Headbanger's Ball: The Tour" with Cradle Of Filth, a headlining run on the 2005 "Strhess Tour," the 2005 Warped Tour, and trips to Europe, Australia and Japan.

"The Truth" is the band's defining album. Stripped to their core, laid bare, like the artwork suggests -- putting everything on the table with such naked honesty and painful catharsis their bodies threatened to fall apart from the weight of the boiling passion they've laid to record. A headlining tour of the US solidified their domination, with Australia, UK Download and a return to Ozzfest to follow! THE TRUTH IS IN STORES NOW!

Skip the Foreplay: Marc-André Fillion - Vocals Chuck Pilon- Guitar Mathieu Maltais - Guitar Julien Guy-Béland - Bass Marc-André Lemyre - Drums Jean-Michel Aumais - DJ

Born of Osiris: BORN OF OSIRIS is said to be "an epic mix of intricate and memorable melodies with challenging time signatures that still hold an infectious groove, all while maintaining sheer, tasteful brutality."

As I Lay Dying: Formed in early 2001 to realize the developing musical vision of ex-Societys Finest guitarist Tim Lambesis, As I Lay Dying first took shape as a trio, with (now-former) guitarist Evan White and drummer Jordan Mancino rounding out the lineup. One month into their lifespan, the group hit the studio to record their first album, Beneath The Encasing Of Ashes, released that June by Pluto Records. As I Lay Dying caught the touring bug shortly afterward, and started what to this day remains a pattern.

Released by Pluto in August of 2002, As I Lay Dyings split CD with fellow San Diegans American Tragedy offered the first sign of where the band was headed. Touring as relentlessly as ever behind their latest effort, As I Lay Dying found themselves landing on the radar of several prominent record labels, with Metal Blade ultimately sealing the deal in March of 2003and the bands Metal Blade debut, Frail Words Collapse, dropping on an unsuspecting public that July.

Long story short: Produced by Lambesis, Frail Words Collapse crystallized everything As I Lay Dying had been working toward into a massive knockout blow. Even though mainstream acceptance still eluded them, it didnt matter: Sonically, the band had united the classic Göthenburg soundthe punch-press rhythms, snarling vocals and melancholy riffs of seminal Swedish bands like At The Gateswith the chugging heartbeat of modern hardcore, launching themselves into the forefront of a new scene of metal bubbling under in the U.S. With each tour came new fans, who told their friends, who told their friends, who told Well, you get the idea.

Enter 2005. Strengthened by the road, creatively on fire, and with their lineup both solidified and contributing equally to the songwriting process, As I Lay Dying enter Big Fish Studios in Encinitas, California (the same place theyd recorded Collapse), at the beginning of January. With Lambesis at the production helm, along with help from bandmate Phil Sgrosso, and engineer/co-producer Steve Russell once again behind the boards, the quintet sequestered themselves until spring and emerged with their leanest, meanest and most focused effort yet, Shadows Are Security.

The Faceless: Michael Keene - Guitar, vocals Steve Jones - Guitar Derek Rydquist-Vocals Brandon Giffin - Bass Michael Sherer - Keyboards Nick Pierce - Drums

A Skylit Drive: Formation and EP (2006 – 2007)

A Skylit Drive's original members all met while attending Lodi High School in Lodi. Cory La Quay (drummer) attended Franklin High School in Elk Grove, California along with Matt Mingus (drummer) of Dance Gavin Dance.[3] Their debut EP, She Watched the Sky, was released early in 2007 on Tragic Hero.[4] Following this the group toured with Four Letter Lie, Blessthefall, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Greeley Estates, Oh Sleeper, The Blackout, Alesana, Before Their Eyes, Dance Gavin Dance, Kenotia, Pierce the Veil, and From First to Last. Jordan Blake left the band around November 2007 because he was not taking care of his voice, and eventally got very sick and had 11 ulcers in his lungs. Blake revealed this himself, as did the members of A Skylit Drive. Blake also said he did not quit, and was not kicked out. It was a mutual thing, the guys in A Skylit Drive knew he needed a break for hs health, and Blake said "I didn't wanna hold my boys back". He is currently with Watchout! Theres Ghosts. Jonny Craig replaced him for a short while after leaving Dance Gavin Dance, though before joining bands Emarosa and Isles & Glaciers.

Wires... and the Concept of Breathing (2008)

A demo version of "Knights of the Round," was performed live with Jonny Craig as the lead vocalist during his temporary tour with the band in November 2007. Though Craig had written lyrics to the song, only the chorus or refrain, was kept in the final album version sang by their new-found, permanent vocalist Michael Jagmin. Michael “Jag” Jagmin, formerly of Odd Project, replaced Craig permanently for vocals. Craig Mabbitt was also trying for lead vocals after getting kicked out of blessthefall, but accidentally called the manager of Escape the Fate instead of the manager for A Skylit Drive and ended up being in that band instead. The full length Wires...and the Concept of Breathing appeared in May 2008. The album hit #171 on the U.S. Billboard 200,[9] as well as #9 on the Top Heatseekers Chart and #20 on the Top Independent Albums chart.[10] Shortly after the release of the album they filmed a music video for the nonprofit group To Write Love on Her Arms directed by Robby Starbuck.[11] They appeared at The Bamboozle Left in 2008 and toured in the summer of that year with Sky Eats Airplane, Breathe Carolina, and Emarosa. They toured with Greeley Estates, August Burns Red, Sky Eats Airplane, This or the Apocalypse, Escape the Fate, Alesana, Chiodos, and Silverstein during fall in 2008. They also filmed a live DVD called "Let Go of the Wires", which was release on December 9, 2008.

In Mid-November the band released a music video for the song "Wires and the Concept of Breathing". The video can be viewed through their MySpace profile. Their song "This Isn't the End" is now the music video on their MySpace directed by Robby Starbuck about teen suicide in conjunction with the non-profit organization To Write Love on Her Arms. Both videos are on their first full length album, Wires... and the Concept of Breathing, and the band has shot other videos for songs on the album. They have announced that there will be five brand new videos on their upcoming DVD "Let Go of the Wires" as well as live performance footage from a show at the Glasshouse in Pomona, CA. The DVD was released exclusively at Hot Topic on December 9, 2008. On December 19 2008, it was announced that A Skylit Drive would be a part of the Vans Warped Tour 2009 lineup. This Spring A Skylit Drive will be headlining a US tour with Dance Gavin Dance, Attack Attack!, and In Fear and Faith

Adelphia (2009 – present)

In their DVD, "Let Go of the Wires", the band discussed plans for their next album. The album was to be titled "Glaciers". The band later announced that this would not be the title of their new album. On January 8 2009, the band announced, via a Myspace Bulletin, that they were now a part of Fearless Records and to expect a new album release sometime in 2009. They also announced tour dates with Dance Gavin Dance. On May 26th, A Skylit Drive released a new song, entitled "Those Cannons Could Sink a Ship" onto iTunes and also for play on their MySpace page. The song is the first of their new album to be released on iTunes. [12] A Skylit Drive is a part of Warped Tour for the 2009 season. Adelphia, released on June 9, 2009, peaked at number 64 on the Billboard 200.

Veil Of Maya: The midwest is a place that is overlooked by many... It is too bad because the midwest has given birth to some of the most progressive metal bands to come out in a long time. VEIL OF MAYA hails from the suburbs of Chicago and having played regionally and toured for 2 years in support of their debut full length "ALL THINGS SET ASIDE" on Corrosive, they have definitely made some waves...

Pierce The Veil: Pierce the Veil is a San Diego, CA hardcore/post hardcore band formed by brothers Mike and Vic Fuentes with Joe Tancil and Mitchell Balatore. The brothers came into the San Diego hardcore/punk scene when they were in high school with their band Early Times. When the owner of Equal Vision Records saw them at a show in San Diego, the brothers had a record deal right out of high school. They released A Celebration of an Ending under the band name Before Today, changing the name Early Times due to copyright infringement on the beer with the same name.

The band toured heavily after the album's release in 2006, and when they returned the band broke up, leaving Mike and Vic on their own. The duo was still backed by Equal Vision and they continued to write songs until they had enough for their second album, A Flair for the Dramatic. With the new album came a new name: Pierce the Veil. Pierce the Veil also acquired two new members: guitarist Tony Perry and bassist Jamie Preciado.

Pierce the Veil performed a number of concert dates for three months after the album's release, including tour dates on the '07 and '08 Warped Tours and The Delicious Tour, which they headlined. Their third album, Selfish Machines, was released in 2010 and made it to the number one spot on Billboard's Heat Seekers Chart. Following the success of the album, Pierce the Veil embarked on a year's worth of concert dates in 2010, including performances at Bamboozle, South by Southwest, the Take Action Tour with Attack Attack!, and tour dates on the This is a Family Tour, which ended in December of 2010.

In true Pierce the Veil fashion, the band has announced tour dates for 2011 on The Gamechanger's Tour. Concert dates for the 2011 tour will feature quite the line-up of supporting bands, including A Day to Remember, Bring Me the Horizon, and We Came as Romans. While Pierce the Veil hasn't been on the mainstream music scene for long, they are definitely on the rise and will put on a concert date that fans won't soon forget. Be sure to catch the tour dates in 2011 so that you can say "I knew them when."

For Today: For Today has played with many national acts, too many to name. With a hard work ethic and a never ending goal to God's will and go as far as possible, For Today has completed many smaller tours as well as a 2 week midwest tour in April 2006 and a 4 week East Coust/South/Midwest tour in June 2006. They just finished recording 2 new songs to demo material for record labels with engineer Mike Dresch (Nodes of Ranvier, Bloodlined Calligraphy, War of Ages, etc.) and you can hear the new material on their myspace right now as well! For Today is still currently unsigned and doing everything by themselves but are shopping around for a record label to release a full length on and to tour full time to come to a city near you (if they haven't already!).

Confide: Confide is a hardcore band out LaCrescenta/Sunland area. We have been together since August of 2004.

Unearth: Hailing from Massachusetts, the virtual metal and hardcore capital of North America, Unearth bring a new sense of talent with charismatic riffs, thought provoking lyrics and pummeling breakdowns. Unearth masterfully combine an intoxicating mix of American and European metal with hardcore ethic and punch. This unique approach makes Unearth one of the most abrasive, commanding and emotionally charged groups in the underground scene today.

Shadows Fall: SHADOWS FALL unveils their most aggressive morsel to date while shattering the boundaries of traditional metal expectations. The War Within is a well-crafted opus challenging the hard rock community to embrace a record equally as revolutionary as the classic Master of Puppets was to Metallica's career. The five-piece stays true to their melodic edge while their musical proficiency and technical prowess show on tracks such as The Light That Blinds, Inspiration on Demand and The Power of I and I. It is the stunning emotional epic tracks, however, that give their fourth album added depth and intensity on songs like Ghosts of Past Failures and Stillness. The War Within continues to separate the group from their peers by showcasing their ability.

SHADOWS FALL released their debut album, Somber Eyes To The Sky, in 1997 on guitarist Matt Bachand' label, Lifeless Records. This helped garner them an immense amount of attention throughout their Massachusetts home that quickly spread across the globe. The buzz caught the interest of Century Media Records who have been home to the band ever since. The group's first release for the label, Of One Blood, marked the introduction of new vocalist Brian Fair and exposed the band to a worldwide audience as they went on tour with an array of diverse artists such as Candiria, Misfits, King Diamond, Glassjaw and In Flames.

Their critically praised third release, The Art of Balance, was released in September of 2002 and proved to be the band's most cohesive and dynamic offering to date. With new drummer Jason Bittner in tow along with original member Paul Romanko on bass, they now had an unstoppable rhythm section. Produced by Zeuss (Hatebreed, Blood Has Been Shed, Sworn Enemy) at Planet Z Studios, each track brought finer melodic focus and power while retaining the band's renowned musicianship. It was this album coupled with their undying work ethic that would soon introduce the band to a whole new audience.

After touring the world with the likes of Hatebreed, Kittie, Mushroomhead, Children of Bodom and The Dillinger Escape Plan, the band was invited to take part in Ozzfest 2003. They were heralded as the breakout band of the year and consistently sold more records every week than any other side-stage band. SHADOWS FALL solidified their fan base and was certifiably the new leaders of the genre. This led to being the only band invited for a two-year stint at Japan's Beast Feast, the 4th annual Take Action Tour (alongside Avenged Sevenfold and Poison The Well) and then co-headlining the first annual MTV2 Headbanger's Ball Tour with Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God. Videos for the tracks Thoughts Without Words, Destroyer of Senses and The Idiot Box were greatly embraced by U.S. television programs Headbanger's Ball on MTV2 and Uranium on Fuse; two shows where the band appeared as guests several times. All of this exposure enabled SHADOWS FALL to watch both their fan base and record sales explode. The Art of Balance went on to SoundScan over 100,000 copies in the U.S. becoming the first album in Century Media history to reach this illustrious milestone.

SHADOWS FALL spent the first half of 2004 crafting their anticipated fourth release. The group's new offering, The War Within, produced again by Zeuss, shows them collectively taking a step forward and evolving as a unit, which Fair states is extremely necessary to do. We are all incredibly excited about the new songs. This record covers so much ground without stepping outside of the sound we have always crafted. Some tunes are full-on brutality, some are all-out thrash fests and some have such a rock 'n' roll vibe. All of this combines into what we believe is our best work to date. This record is definitely not The Art Of Balance part two. We have always prided ourselves on continual evolution and try to push our sound into new worlds.

It is that constant desire to evolve and triumph that earns SHADOWS FALL numerous accolades from the press, fans and other bands alike. The group was recently named one of Alternative Press' Top Five Bands in Metal Today, voted Best New Talent by the readers of Revolver (beating out both Evanescence and Lamb of God) and crowned with a Golden God Award for Best Underground Act during the first annual Metal Hammer Awards. The stellar guitar work of Bachand and Jon Donais has also landed the dynamic duo a monthly column in Guitar World, whose readers voted them Best New Talent in this year's poll. They also ranked in the publication's coveted Top 100 Guitarists of All Time lists. Bittner scored similar accolades in Modern Drummer as he was named the number 1 Up and Coming Drummer in the 2004 reader's poll. Preceding the album's release, the band has already toured Europe as part of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal (NWOAHM) tour together with Killswitch Engage, Chimaira and God Forbid and will headline the U.S. on the first ever Strhess Tour that is sponsored by well-known artist Derek Hess.

SHADOWS FALL understands the delicate balance between skill and brutality, classic metal influences and new-school characteristics. This album is an expertly crafted equilibrium. The War Within will reroute the path that hard music takes in 2004 and lead the revolution going forward.

Chiodos: Bradley Bell Pat McManaman Matt Goddard Jason Hale Tanner Wayne Brandon Bolmer

“We have something to prove and we are ready to do it,” states Chiodos keyboardist Bradley Bell. With a new lineup and a new outlook on life, Chiodos will release their third full-length album, Illuminaudio, on October 5th, 2010.

The album is the follow up to the band’s sophomore release, Bone Palace Ballet, which debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 Chart and topped the Independent Chart. The critically acclaimed album has gone on to sell over 215k copies, while the debut album, All’s Well That Ends Well, has sold over 244k units since its 2005 release.

Illuminaudio is the debut Chiodos recording for new lead vocalist Brandon Bolmer (formerly of Yesterday’s Rising) and drummer Tanner Wayne (formerly of Underminded and Scary Kids Scaring Kids). Alongside Bolmer and Wayne are established Chiodos members Bradley Bell (keys), Jason Hale (guitar), Pat McManaman (guitar), and Matt Goddard (bass).

Seamlessly intertwined with the band’s signature haunting melodies and grandiose vocals, is a bolder, more striking contrast between delicate piano-work and intense, bellowing screams. With the core composers of the music still at the heart of Chiodos, fans can be reassured that they will hear the sound that they have grown familiar with over the years. Bell explains, “Even if the lineup had stayed the same, I feel that the direction of sound would've turned out similar. We don’t feel like our vision was lost or compromised in any way throughout the writing process.”

The album was recorded at The Machine Shop in Weehawken, New Jersey with producer Machine [Lamb Of God, Every Time I Die, Cobra Starship]. “Recording with Machine was incredible,” says Bell. “We didn't really know what to expect, but right away we could tell that he believed in us as musicians.”

With positive vibes flowing between the band and producer, the studio was transformed into a creative sanctuary. Away from the pressures of daily life and touring, the band was able to hone in on their skills and emotions to create a sound that truly represents who Chiodos is today. “He was truly inspiring in a lot of ways…from pushing us in our writing to digging deep inside of us to helping us realize what our true sound is,” Bell describes of the experience. “And to really bring it out of us, he would get up and start break dancing and shouting at us to make us that much more excited. We've never had the opportunity to work with a producer like that and we feel it was key in this transitional process.”

A theme of transitions and growth is evident throughout the album, with a focus on moving forward and starting over. Illuminaudio “means a new chapter, it means change, and a fresh start. Some of the songs are very personal, and I’m happy to have that,” expounds Bolmer. “There is a meaning and point to each song, and when put together, it creates something that I will remember for the rest of my life.”

Reflecting on the personal nature of the album’s content, Bell adds, “I hope that people can use Illuminaudio as an escape from their problems and see a light at the end of the tunnel no matter what their situation…There is so much poison and negativity in this world that in order to not let it effect us and the chemistry of our brotherhood, we just have to accept the fact that everybody has their own problems and opinions and hope the best for everyone in any situation.” He concludes, “Music isn't meant to be a competition or an open forum for people to destroy; those who treat it is as such simply don't deserve to be graced with it.”

Regardless of member changes, the rising pressure of the band’s past success, or life’s constant obstacles redirecting their path, Chiodos has once again created an album that pushes boundaries and allows the music to speak for itself. Illuminaudio is an honest, raw representation of hope, strength and optimism. “We put an incredible amount of thought, time, sacrifice, emotion, and stress into the process of making this beautiful monster,” states Bell. “I believe all of that will shine through the music as soon as people press play.
